Short Biographical Sketches
Prof. John Robertson is a Professor in the Engineering Department at Cambridge University. He graduated with a BA and PhD in Physics from Cambridge University. He worked for 19 years as a research scientist in the Central Electricity Generating Board. He is a ISI highly cited researcher in Materials Science with ~550 papers, with an H-index of 80 and over 26,000 citations. He was awarded a Humboldt research award in 2007 for work on diamond-like carbon and carbon nanotubes. He is a Fellow of American Physical Society and the Materials Research Society. He has coordinated several EC projects in NMP and ICT. He has worked on electronic materials, semiconductors and disordered semiconductors for many years, following a PhD on the electronic structure of amorphous Se. He recently worked on models of the atomic structure of amorphous phases of GeSbTe materials and their defects [1-3]. His high level skills on amorphous semiconductors, background in materials design, working with semiconductor companies and EC project management will be valuable to this project.
